Extraordinary

Extraordinary

Melody Goodman/Melody Goodman Music

Verse 1:

A star was shining down as the wise men gathered ‘round

Bearing gifts of silver and of gold.

Shepherds heard the angels sing, could this really be the King

That the prophets had foretold.

They thought it rather odd to find the Son of God

In this place so lowly and unkind.

A manger for a bed, but like the angel said,

“This would be a sign.”

Chorus:

Then there was no doubt, He was Extraordinary, a Holy supernatural entity.

This bundle of joy was a heavenly boy, born to the Virgin Mary.

No mistakin’ His identity, Extraordinary!

Verse 2:

The people gathered round, on the outskirts of the town

By the Sea of Galilee.

They’d heard all the talk, how He’d made the lame to walk

And the blinded eyes to see.

And they weren’t disappointed, He was holy and anointed

He was everything they’d heard He would be.

They came to criticize but much to their surprise

They all left believin’.

Chorus:

Then there was no doubt, He was extraordinary a holy supernatural entity.

He was the talk of the town, He was widely renowned,

He was truly legendary. No mistakin’ His identity,

Extraordinary!

Verse 3:

Hated by religious leaders, doubted by the unbelievers,

Making claims to be some kind of King.

It was true what they had heard; He was causing quite a stir,

So they nailed Him to a tree.

They watched Him breathe His last, then three days had passed,

Surely it was safe to celebrate.

But there behind the stone there was something going on

That they did not anticipate.

Chorus:

Then there was no doubt, He was extraordinary a holy supernatural entity.

He was the talk of the town, alive and walkin’ around,

He was truly legendary. No mistakin’ His identity,

Extraordinary!
